FleetOps Intelligence: Real-Time Logistics Performance Dashboard

The Challenge

A regional logistics operator managed fleet performance, revenue, and delays using fragmented Excel and CSV files spread across multiple years (2021–2024).

Operational visibility was limited:

• No real-time view of truck utilization or grounded assets

• Mileage targets and revenue performance were tracked manually

• Delay causes were recorded but not analyzed systematically

• Management lacked clarity on which departments or processes were driving inefficiencies

As a result, decision-making was reactive, and high-value fleet assets were underutilized.

The Solution

I designed and implemented an end-to-end Operations Intelligence Dashboard that consolidated multi-year operational and financial data into a single source of truth.

The solution delivered:

• A real-time fleet performance view showing Active, Stationary, and Grounded trucks

• Mileage vs. revenue correlation against a 450 km/day performance benchmark

• Advanced delay analytics with categorization by internal (Finance, Workshop) and external (Border, Loading, Documentation) sources

• Automated attribution of delays to responsible departments

• Multi-year YTD revenue and profitability analysis (2021–2024)

• Drill-down capability from executive KPIs to individual truck IDs and trips

The Outcome

• Fleet managers gained immediate visibility into asset utilization and downtime

• Border and documentation delays were identified as responsible for 40%+ of non-productive time in early 2024

• Recurring mechanical issues were detected at the vehicle level, improving maintenance planning

• Mileage shortfalls were clearly highlighted, enabling targeted driver and truck-level interventions

• The organization shifted from reactive issue handling to proactive, data-driven fleet optimization
